Paraprofessional Scholarship

The paraprofessional scholarship pays tuition for selected paraprofessionals who are enrolled in college programs leading to certification as a teacher.

Scholarships are awarded periodically through a competitive process and application information is posted district-wide to notify interested paraprofessionals of the process and requirements.

The scholarship is currently for six (6) hours per semester. Paraprofessionals may select a college or university of their choice, but are compensated at the tuition rate established by Metropolitan State College of Denver. If there is a difference in tuition rates, the paraprofessional is responsible for the cost difference.

To compete for the scholarship, a paraprofessional must have completed a minimum of one school year as a paraprofessional in the district and must be employed as a paraprofessional for a minimum of three hours per day.

The paraprofessional scholarship will be accepting applications during fall semester 2006. Information will be available on the Human Resources website and in schools/departments.
