Employee Relations provides human resources policy support and guidance where needed. Our goal is to help prevent problems that grow out of work situations and affect DPS employees.
When issues arise, we can also help resolve them wherever possible. By maintaining open communications, our intention is to help DPS maintain the highest levels of motivation, morale, and productivity.
We provide information about applicable regulations, legislation, and bargaining agreements. We manage dispute resolution, and also advise employees on grievance and appeal rights.
For employees represented by a union or association, Employee Relations manages the collective bargaining agreements.
We serve as hearing officers in termination cases, and we provide investigative services when needed.
Employee Relations also manages the district’s visa programs, coordinates the district’s response to unemployment insurance claims, and manages the district’s ADA and FMLA processes.
