Denver Teaching Fellows
Denver Teaching Fellows seeks outstanding professionals and recent graduates to make a difference in the lives of the students who need you the most. This highly-selective program is designed to recruit and train socially-driven individuals, like you, who want to make a difference in the Denver community by becoming teachers in some of our highest-need public schools. The Teaching Fellows program will offer over 50 new teachers this year the opportunity to join this selective accelerated route into the classroom. We are looking for outstanding candidates to teach math, science, special education, and bilingual Spanish (K-6) in Denver Public Schools.
Candidates will benefit from a streamlined application and selection process and, if selected, will have the opportunity to participate in an intensive Training Institute in summer 2008 before entering their classrooms as full-time teachers in the fall. Fellows will pursue their teaching license while teaching full-time, with the added benefit of an AmeriCorps Education Award that will help defer the cost of certification coursework. Fellows will receive a full-time teachers’ salary once they begin teaching in the fall.
